Talk about a Rally icon, The Lancia Delta.

In 1979 Lancia came up with a total innovation, the first compact Lancia Hatchback , the Delta.
The Delta’s incredible driving characteristics and Giugiaro’s stunning design made for this model to become an instant commercial hit, both in Italy and far abroad. To make the Delta’s story even more interesting, Lancia decided to enter their hit car into various then incredibly popular Rally Championships, with the world Rally Championship and their Group B monsters as the climax of motorsports at the time.
The Lancia Delta won the world championship title numerous times (6x constructors and 3x drivers) and made Lancia the most successful Rallycar- constructor. This exceptional palmares further forged the car’s legendary status and of course greatly stimulated sales of the roadgoing model.

In 1988 Lancia introduced the road legal rally version of the Delta: the Integrale. These were equipped with four wheel drive and a more powerful 2.0 liter four cylinder turbo engine. In 1989 Lancia introduced the new and seriously upgraded HF Integrale 16V, who’s 16-valve engine delivered a whopping 304NM of torque and 200hp on all four wheels. Incredible numbers back in the days and even still today figures that can beat a lot of modern cars, especially since it is a lot lighter and more agile than the modern heavy cars!

The car starts at the turn of the key and reaches 100km/h in just 5.7 seconds. The manual 5-speed gearbox shifts very smoothly and immediately brings all the power to the 4 wheels. However, the 4 wheel drive gives the car the necessary control and stability in all circumstances.
