The Volkswagen Type 2, which was designed on the platform of the iconic 'Beetle' or 'Type 1', started taking shape in the late ‘40s and went into production in 1950. The type 2 was such a success that it was offered in various forms over the years; from transporter for the Type 1, to camper and ambulance and even to fire truck. In 1968 the first major changes were made to the T2, and again with a huge succes: almost 2 million (!) examples were sold worldwide.
This wonderful offered Type 2 from 1972 is a real pleasure to lay your eyes on and finds itselves from interior to exterior in absolute new condition. This example has been excellently restored, with no expenses spared: the body is finished in full white and is equipped with the "French headlights" as icing on the cake. This in combination with the new, warm-beige interior gives this T2 a fresh look and invites you sympathetically to plan a never ending road trip. In the back of this T2, under the trunk, lies the iconic air-cooled 4-cylinder boxer engine from the equally iconic "Beetle" that also formed the basis for the Porsche 356, whereof the boite was overhauled. It’s needless to say tah the engine compartment, as well as the engine itself, is in an absolute top condition, It’s like this Volkswagen T2 has just left the factory. Ultimatley, this T2 starts immediately and drives the way it looks like: perfect! The restoration cost far exceeds the value of the car, It is difficult to find a T2 this particular beauty.
